  • why do i get the wrong colours when sending pdf’s?

Hi folks looking to send out designs for approval to customer, I think the best quality i can get is to send in a pdf format, When i convert it to pdf the colours are not a true match – Not even close, Dark green comes out bright bright green! Same for other colours, Any idea on why this is ? Do i need to change my colour pallet or is there another way to send them to the customer.

    Thanks Tim D

I’m not really very familiar with Corel’s method of producing pdf’s. How are you making them? Are you exporting them, or are you making a .ps file and then distilling them with Acrobat Pro? There is probably a way to adjust the color settings when you export. I use FreeHand MX and I know there are ways to set the export option on pdf’s (see screenshot). It can also depend on what version you are exporting to. I always try to do the latest because the PDF viewer from Adobe is a free download anyway (although FreeHand is no longer supported, it can only export to v4, while using Distiller I can get v8).
