Does anyone have a good supplier of cutting mats? Thinking of covering my new bench with the green self healing mat but need 2000 x 900mm, possibly in 2 parts whichever is cheaper

Steve @ Graphic Sign Supplies in Harpenden does them. Don’t know how competitive his prices are… (?)

Jag do them as well but again not sure what their pricing is like. I had one but never got on with it. Don’t think they self heal that well and after a while I found that when cutting the blade would follow an older cut line.

    Hi Chris,

I’m a glass boy as well, this was after my mat ruined more prints with the blade following more of the old cuts than the line I wanted.

I’m now the proud owner of a 6mm thick 1220 x 3000 toughened glass topped workbench. got the Idea off Shane and Rob, I think, in a previous shed thread.

Get thought more blades but cheaper than a reprint .

    Cheers

glass is perfect my fear before getting it, was it may make that horrid ear hurting noise when you put a blade on it,(like chalk on a black board) it doesn’t make a sound it does blunt your blades very quickly

    Or use 3mm polypropylene sheet.

Cheap as. But ultra hard wearing and doesn’t blunt blades at a rate of knots!

Been using the same pieces for over 3 years now – still fine.

Yeah great news Brian. My little lad is 2 in November. You had better get used to being totally knackered and making stupid mistakes like not attaching files… I`m sure you know what I mean.

    All the best tho.

    Cheers

Congrats also Brian. Sorry to interrupt folks, but I was thinking of buying a RotaTrim (http://www.rotatrim.co.uk/) brand cutter to cut a volume of vinyl stickers printed on my versacamm, about 1,000 to 3000 pcs, 3" squared approximately. The client wants them cut per piece because it’s a promotional giveaway. Do you think a RotaTrim is a good choice, or should I just use a regular NT type cutter on a piece of glass? What type of RotaTrim cutter should I look for?
