hand painted signage: jan’s hairdressers
A few signs painted with the help of my trusty sables.
Blaenavon Cheddar was straight off the brush with just a rough layout direct to the fascia, as was Jan’s Hair.
Wall doggin’ with The Cellar Bar, masonry paint in the sun, don’t you just love it.
Dr Squeegee is a mix of paint and vinyl, oh and the van you see is all vinyl with an airbrush fade on the name.
The castle scene is homework painted in my bathroom in a mad medieval moment.
Keeping the dust from settling on my brushes.

Thanks guys and gal. It really is refreshing to paint when so many customers want vinyl.
Here’s a couple more pics, Foy Williams is one shot black and metalic gold thou it doesn’t show up too well in the photo and is in same street as the other fascias. Window logos are vinyl.
Lulworth was another simple masonry paint job on a house straight off the brush.

Again, simply excellent.
This is my most favorite type of signwriting to do and to see.
I hope someday my lettering will be as clean and eye-appealing as yours.

Thanks everyone, I hope you all get as much pleasure in your work as I do in mine. Of course I get the mundane run of the mill jobs all the time but it’s great to do traditional now and again and also have a free hand in it.
I’ve found that ever since the computer took over, customers want drawings and visuals which I must say I do like as you both know where your heading but it is refreshing from time to time to hear the customer say ‘you know your job, just get on with it’.
At the moment I am signwriting a church notice board, more shopfronts at the same place as above and I’m due to start a job at Cardiff Castle lettering above room doorways in Welsh and English.
So I can honestly say that for the moment the brushes won’t be gathering dust!

excellent work Neil as always …particularly like the foy williams.just goes to show you dont always need loads of shading for a job to look great ….awell executed letter and choice of colours…does the job

Lynn, would loved to have made it up to Dave Kynastons meet but for those 2 weeks I was not in my home country but on holiday, soda law I think you call it. :banghead:
