A couple of weeks ago I made a pair of For Sale boards, on some fluted display board. I printed the logos, and being lazy at the time printed some red lettering as well. The material, a Mactac 3 year digital with removable adhesive all went down ok 3 days after printing onto isopropanel cleaned boards.
I went back this week to make some alterations for the agent to find the red text already removing itself, it was coming off anyway but it’s a lesson learned.
Removable adhesive, digital print and low energy substrate obviously doesn’t work

I’ve been told that that can be a symptom of applying the vinyl too soon after printing. Is that right?

You need to let the ink dry for 24 hours if you are going to cut in the ink, else it will curl up as has happened to you. you can leave 2mm round the edge and should be ok.

The printed material laid out for three days before I put onto the boards. I did another board the following day with printed Metamark MD3 material and that is perfect, so my conclusion is that the removable adhesive is the culprit.

i would have thought so too steve, as the removable seems a softer glue 😀
