Hi All
When buying canvas to print on what do you look for in regards to quality?
And can any one tell me what GSM stands for?
Thanks for any help

I look for "will it last / be vibrant" primarily…cost is often the secondary issue.
Look out for ‘whiteness’, ‘gsm’ (Grams per Square Metre)* and how well it accepts solvent ink (& does supplier have a ready made profile). Even some high end brands don’t stand up too well to scuffing & bleeding, so get samples when you can.
*gsm – eg. copier paper (80 gsm), light banner (350gsm), medium banner (450), super heavy (750)
Graham in Australia our main two canvas options I’ve seen is the Fredrix and the Sihl. I started with the Sihl but I’ve moved over to the Fredrix. I still use Viponds digiclear to boost the colours.
