New pump for Versacamm SP300V
Posted by B Roberts on 3 September 2007 at 22:14Hi Guys
Got a new pump from Mclink (Preston) and the first one arrived broken.
The replacement appears to have a missing piece (horizontal moving part)& the tubes are too short to reach the waste bottle pipes.Do you think i have the wrong pump or should i use the existing piece from the broken pump & bodge the tubes together to reach the waste bottle?

yes, you bodge the pipes. They always arrive so you dont have to feed long pipes to the bottle.
That horizontal moving bit is also missing from a pump i recently bought, however the jv3 works fine without it

if a genuine one then the length of the pipe could say which way round its fitted.
if i remember long ones to the waist tank. but then you did notice what went where before dismantling 😉

Hi there, thanks for getting back so soon.
What is the Jv3? & what did you use to extend the new pump pipes to the waste bottle tubes?
The new pump tubes are clear – not white.
I was worried that i had bought an older pump. I have read that they have been surpassed by a better model pump for the versacamm.ben

The horizontal moving part is for a wiper blade and is only required on older machines such as the HiFi Jet FJ series and the Soljet SC500/SJ500/SJ600.
This type of pmp has appeared in many printers, including Epson desktop A4 inkjets.
The VersaCAMM uses a different motorised mechanism for the wipers so it s no longer needed.
Pipe extensions are normal in the versaCAMM to reach the waste tank, and the machine was fitted with them when new. There were two thin clear pipes that pushed into the ends of the white tubing outlets to go the waste tank.

I have just replaced the pump in our sp540v. It really was very easy
I went into a cleaning mode to move the head out of the way undid one screw to release the pump and then was able to detach from old and reattach to the new pump one by one. The tubes from the capping station have joins in them wich makes attaching the new tubes very easy. Put in the screw. Easy as that, take your time make sure that you get it straight in your head what you are doing.
