  why does microsoft office 2000 try and install?

  why is it everytime im on a web page ….microsoft office 2000 trys to installs driving me pure mental!!! 😮

  This is called "self healing" which is a feature of an MSI installer, most Microsoft programs use MSIs to install, it could just be that there is a problem with the office setup and it needs to be reinstalled, just pop the disk in next time it comes up and let it "self heal".

  ccheers andrew but i uninstalled it a couple of weeks ago as i never use it

  Brian, maybe worth reinstalling it and then remove it again from add and remove programs.
