I would say it is NOT available Peter. There maybe a company offering a so called wrapping chrome but unless being promoted "directly by" industry leaders like 3M, Avery, Oracal, Mactac etc ide say steer well clear.
Chrome is a polyester film. not a vinyl, so it does not stretch. -
i have seen this sort of thing before jason. on the web and also on theses boards by one of our members who wrapped a transit van in it about a year ago.
the outcome looked great in the pictures, as it does in the link you posted.
however, i still keep to my opinion as stated above.
these vehicles may look good in pictures but i bet the film looks stressed, wrinkled, creased and even patched in places up close. but not noticeable in the pictures…
there are a few reputable wraps on the market today that actually do all they claim, even then they must be applied 100% correct or they will fail like any other vinyl. Now if they cannot "perfect" the wrap vinyl for the most demanding of vehicle recess, what chance do they have with a polyester film that will not and does not have any give?
as i said, if the reputable suppliers such as 3M make the claim, knowing they back their products and claims… then i will sit up and listen. 😀 -
Doro do a pvc ‘conformable’ silver and gold. There obviously going to be better than the polyester films but I don’t know how good. I get the impression you just want it to conformable not a full on wrap vinyl so I guess this should be fine. Can’t find a link – DFP31 for silver DFP32 for gold – 5year exterior and printable. I don’t think it’s in the catalogue.
