    Hi all

Could anyone please let me know details for Aluminum extrusion suppliers in the UK, we manufacture single / double sided light-boxes with either angle trim or clip frame .

I am based in Banbury so the nearer the better to keep down transportation costs. I am receiving different extrusion through our Acrylic suppliers but am very aware they do not know the product as it is a bolt on product to normal stock items they sell. I am aware most of it comes through Universal, when trying to approach them they would not entertain my business as although I feel I have a large usage it was not to the scale that they deem large enough.

    Thanks in advance.

    Liam

Try SMP they do quite a large range of extrusions or your local aluminium wholesaler should be able to help I would have thought.
Don’t understand what the problem with Universal is though, you don’t need to be a large user to buy extrusions from them, well I have never had a problem buying a few bits and pieces anyway.

    Google: "Nova aluminium" …

They’re all ex universal people and a nice friendly bunch, and they’re based in bristol at the other end of the road from universal.
Universal will just refer you to Amari if you want to buy just extrusion to fabricate yourself – adding a middle man!

Speak to Paul Vickery at Nova, He’s one of the directors, and tell him Joe from Signcut referred you. They’ll probably be happy to sell you extrusions.

I use them for all my lightboxes and frames now, great service and great prices.

    Cheers
    Joe

We’ve always used Norking, based in Doncaster. We deal with them quite a lot for our modular exhibition system, so have just continued for any other extrusion we need. Good thing is because a lot of their stuff is exhibition oriented, we never have a problem with cleanliness – unlike some other suppliers we have occasionally used.
