  • Posts that can be bolted into concrete?

    Hi everyone,

I’ve been asked to put some fire assembly point signs up at East Midlands Airport.

We’ve produced them before as a cube type sign constructed from Dibond & angle aluminium which was then fixed onto a standard road traffic sign post.

This time they’ve asked me to provide posts approx 3.2m long that can be fixed onto concrete with bolts so that they can be removed if necessary.

Does anyone know of any suppliers that produce this sort of thing or would they need to be completely made from scratch?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I made one of these a few months ago… very easy.
simpley weld a regular road sign post to a square steel base plate about 5mm thick drill holes in four corners and use concrete bolt/screws
you just mark the ground were you want the holes. drill them with a 7mm masonry drill bit, sit the plate/post over the holes and with a socket set fix/tighten the bolts. job done. 😀

im guessing that it was 5mm base plate mate, if you can get thicker use it as it prevents any flex. also, the ground must be concrete not tar etc if its anything but concrete the bolts will just rip out.
