Help Soljet problem
Posted by Stepen Wood on 9 July 2007 at 11:24Hi
My Soljet today has decided to only print from one side of the yellow printhead.
I have tried flushing through ink, cleaned the head with solution.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is?
Thanks in advance
Stephen

Hi
have you tried swapping cartridges, could also be a blocked damper each side of the head is served by its own damperKev

i had this on friday, turned out it was a faulty bulk ink cartridge like kev has said. just swapped it over and its worked fine. however, i was obviously oblivious to this and i too thought it a fault in the machine. did the flushes etc as you have… technician came out and did dampers and verious other things still didnt work… last thing he tried was the ink cartridge and it worked! i think he said it was the hole in the cart that blocked in some way or another.

cheers for the replies
we use refillable cartridges. It was actually a bit of fluff clogging the dampers. replaced the dampers – seems to be working fine.
Will replace cartridges as well, as they could have been the cause.
Its amazing how something so simple can cause panic stations and almost a whole days work wasted.
Thanks Stephen

your right i know the feeling mate… had various jobs to go out friday and it was something as silly as a cart issue. 🙄

rob out of interest was this covered under your service agreement

i could be wrong but i believe it was Chris, but then again we did buy the bulk feed through b&p…
the technician came out as he suspected dampers etc the cart had a nozzle that got clogged and made the light magenta to stop coming through altogether. -
sounds to me like you will have to visit Karl’s sex shop for some vibrators,
to keep your carts satisfied 😉chris

Hi
i was told that bulk, refillable carts are supposed to be changed yearly at least due to the gauze fillter on the outlet clogging with pigment.Kev

what you say kevin makes a lot of sense but never heard it said hence the use of a vibrator to keep it free

The second pass of the test print is slighty offset to the first on the cyan.
I have seen it done but cannot remember how.
Cheers Stephen

if its the bias head adjustment
then adjusted with a 1.5mm key through the front after loosening the head screws which should be done in order.if the vertical adjustment the by the knob on the front after loosening the head.
where did you find a spare manifold ?

Thanks Chris
I have a box of old parts. My old engineer instead of isolating what the fault was, used to come and change everything until the printer was fixed.
I kept everything, I just took it of an old print head. As I say, I watched him do most of it, due to my low concentration span I don’t think i was paying attention to that bit.
Cheers for the advice no doubt I will be asking for more.
