    Hello,

I’m using eco solvent ultra inks (mutoh value jet) and have been requested to produce a cost for a fully printed shop sign.

I would like some clarification on the expected life span of the printed sign – i know it says upto 3 years. In your experience does that sound reasonable?

Also as i do not as yet own a laminator could i purchase and apply a cold laminate by hand?

    Cheers

if you laminate by hand its fine, you may find applying the laminate to the print once you have it on the board is easier.
i dont see 3 years being a problem but there is all sorts to take into account… i.e. does the print include allot of warm colours, i.e. reds, yellows etc… is it facing south and so on…
loaded with warm colours and facing south is worst case scenario but unless you get 3 years of very sunny weather (in uk i doubt it) only then would you probably see noticible bleaching of colours. if it were me and you were laminating it ide not worry… should be fine as long as the ink is reputable.
