Curved Objects – WinPC Sign
Posted by extreme on 2 July 2007 at 22:44Hi
I have a vector image which I am trying to curve in the same way that you can put text on a circle or arc. But I can’t seem to curve it
Please can anyone help me with this, would be most grateful
Many thanks

dont know that software Suzanne, but it might help if you can show what you are trying to curve.

Hi
Oh, its only a Kawasaki decal to go on the front screen

Hi
Is that the only software you have? You are looking for a perspective or distort command. If you’re stuck I could do it in Corel if you give me the radius you want it curved on?

There is a distort command for text on Win PCsign, Its in the tools menu, Or press Ctrl K when you have your text highlighted. It should enable you to curve the text as you require! Hope this is of some help.

it might work for text John, but Suzanne says it’s a vector she is trying.
I’m sure that is the problem 🙄 -
Hi
No I have Corel Draw aswell, how can I do it on there.I only use the Corel draw occasionally and use Win PC Sign mostly.
If you could let me know that would be great.
Many thanks

Hi
I have tried selecting the object/image and converting to curves but it doesn’t give me the option – it is still in light grey?
Any clues where I’m going wrong?

Hi.. Just checked that, Distortion works on imported ai files coverted to vector’s…..
-
Hi
Yes I tried the distortion and it works but it doesn’t keep all the text/vector at the same height? What I need is for it to be on a curve if that makes any sense?

No I see what you mean. I just tried using two curves and altering the vector to fit within them, but distort is really only altering the outline of the vector image text.
-
if its 80mm wide with the first and last letters raised 2mm from the baseline, i have the vector already done for you.
