what are peoples views on CS2 software please?
Posted by Craig Bond on 25 June 2007 at 22:45Loaded it in tonight. After using various versions of Corel Draw for 14 years I am finding this software hard going. But I will continue to experiment!! :headbang2: Ah well tomorrow is another day I am sure I will get this sorted,

Hi Craig
I started using CS2 for the first time ever about 3 weeks ago, at first I wanted to throw the mac out the window but stuck with it and not it is a breeze. I used to use Freehand 10 and in some ways still prefer it but that might change as I find out more about Illustrator CS2.
and last night I installed CS3 as it was a free upgrade when you bought creative suite CS2 and it arrived yesterday so thought don’t delay and install today.
Have yet to see the differences but I’m sure time will tell.
good luck mate

I am now a week into CS2 and have just about got it. I think my problem was trying to get it to work like CorelDraw! Bad mistake. I am now very impressed with this software and looking forward to introducing it into my design and production at work.

Just out of interest what do you find better about CS2 over Corel X3

I can’t really compare the two to be honest. I am using Corel Select Edition which is about 2001? So quite out of date.
I am about to enter into printing and was advised to switch to Adobe as Corel didn’t work as well in the RIP.

If you were to use Acrobat to produce your pdf that wouldn’t be an issue. X3 did have alot of work so that its own publish to pdf was more compatible, don’t assume though that everything Adobe will be perfect, things like transparencies can still cause problems.
