Printed banners and wind?
Hello all,
I have been approached about proving a banner (8 foot by 4 foot) for installation onto the front of a flat.
The customer has been advised in the past (not my me) that due to the high amount of wind that special fasteners will need to be used.
I usually use 550gsm banner from spandex and solvent print it. To finish off i use double sided tape and eyelets. Can anybody provide any guidance on this matter? i.e would i need to use stronger banner material or special fasteners?

Would have thought the material would be up to it.
As for fixings Rawl bolts with nyloc nuts?And tighten through the eyelets -
if wind is definately going to be an issue then why not use something like a scaffolding banner or perforated if thats the right word type?
i think hexis do a mesh banner that the wind would pass through.

Can you use sail track to fix it to the front of the flat? It wills top the wind getting behind the banner if you take the sail track right to all corners of the banner.

Not sure that i can source sail track in Scotland. The mesh idea sounds interesting – will look into that.
Nyloc nuts was what i was thinking, can they be removed to change the banner?

Yes but if you do it might be wise to replace,once there off/on a few times the nylon kind of loses its full hold on the threads 🙂
