  • design help needed please for fairground images?

Posted by Chris Stansfield on 18 June 2007 at 18:01

    Hi Guys,

hope someone can help, have print job to do (or cut vinyl) for a event company, they are building some fairground stalls for a corporate event, and i need to put graphics on the front to make them look realistic, like the old traditional painted style ones

…but tried searching ‘tinternet but not coming up with anything, and my imagination is lacking at the mo. thought someone with a background in traditional hand painting might have a better clue and could help

swirls and bright colours is basically whats needed, proportions of about 2×3 landscape.

have attached, my attempt, dont think its quite right.

thanks in advance for any help

    Chris

Any more info on size and format? I have some of those CD’s and plenty fairground photos. I will have a dig about but will be tomorrow.

vector ideally, but any image file will be ok if you have anything it will be greatly appreciated

    Looks 2 x 3 in proportion…

You could vector it but the photo may rescale big enough…

Hi Jill, it’s a famous fairground artist, Fred Fowle. I have loads of photos of his stuff, some pictures of his workshop. I think he has retired but passed his knowledge on… just a quick look at that W again…

I have a book of fairgound art and the quality is fantastic. Fred Fowle is a name that springs up regularly and apparently is ragarded as the ‘top dog’ I think he was from Balham in South London although he must be well retired by now.

thought i would post how it went with this…

will post a pic of the whole stall on the event if i can get one.

I digitally printed them and with the painted wood surface underneath it turned out really well, and looked almost hand painted

    thanks for all the help
