  • Could anyone help me find a match in vinyl?

    Hi all,

My Dad’s business has taken a job on which requires some vinyl work along with window film. Unfortunately for me, it needs a pantone match for the vinyl and I don’t have any colour cards.

Could anyone help me find a match in vinyl?

    Pantone colours are as follows:
    Dark Green – 368 (CMYK: 100:0:74:13)
    Light Green – 342 (CMYK: 100:0:71:43 RGB: 0:81:55)

This information was provided by the architect involved.

I have found two Hexis colours that are close to the printed brochure the customer supplied us with, but I don’t know if the brochure is a match! Oh and the really annoying part is I need to have the cut vinyl ready for Wednesday next week as the contractors doing the refurbishment have got to finish by Friday next week for hand over…so it’s fairly urgent I get a match!

    Thanks in advance,

    Adam

    Hi Marcella,

When you say reasonable matches, do you think they’d notice? You know how fussy people can be!!

    Thanks

I think you’d get away with using them no problem Adam….. they’re a good match

    Hi,

Just had the rather worrying news that the lighter green is nowhere near the correct colour….now I was given Pantone codes 368 and 342…..is one of these a sort of lime green? The Oracal I ordered is a lime type green, but I’m been told by my brother (who was fitting) it’s nowhere near the correct colour, so he’s not fitted anything. I have until Friday to find the correct vinyl and get the job cut. I don’t even know of a Mactac supplier!

Anyone able to help me get the right information? I wouldn’t mind, but the colours of vinyl I’ve bought are fairly close to those printed in the clients "brand information booklet".

I know it’s of no use to me whatsoever now, but where can I get hold of Pantone Swatches fairly cheaply? This is a huge customer we’ve been doing window film for years for, and we stand to loose all future work if I let them down. The fact I only received the plans to the job on Thursday night last week is elementary. My "having a full time job too" doesn’t wash with my father, so I’ve been going to bed at 4am for the past 2 days then back up at 8/9am for work 100 miles away.

Please help!!! Before I go insane!

I would have went with 751-063 but Marcella’s right, there is not much in it. In between these two.

    It is definitly lime green.

As for pantone books we get old ones from local printers as they need to replace them every couple of years for fade and what not, we don’t need to be as accurate and get by with their old book no bother.

I’ll try to get some photos up tonight of the vinyl, and the brochure. Holding an emergency meeting when I get home from work to discuss where we go from here. I suspect I’ve been given an incorrect Pantone colour.

Thanks for this so far! I might invest in a pantone chart if I get through this!

    pantone 342 = r: 0 g:106 b:77
    C:93 M:10 Y:77 K:45

    368= R:105 G:190 B 40
    C:70 M:0 Y:100 K:0
