Hello I have been told there is a disc that has different designs for stag and hen themes has anyone an idea of what it is called or better still were I can buy a disc
got a cheap small printer from subli-nation with bulk inks not very big only A4 but maybe good enough to start with I nearly bought a bigger one but held a piece of A4 paper on a T-Shirt and it seemed big enough for now and the package with a bulk ink system and paper etc was only £300 after vat so not a big investment and if the lad likes it I will try a bigger epson next
I am trying to get him motivated he has bad epelepsy and can not get a job anywere but he is a stunning artist and it bugs me to see someone with so much talent not doing anything with it If I had half of his talent there would be no stopping me

    Hi Bill,

I don’t know of any disc but if he is an artist should not be a problem to come up with a unique design, which will be better than all those ‘tacky’ designs going around.

If you need the design bigger and its just words then cut the paper up after printing and spread the design around the t-shirt a bit.
I have an A4 system and no problems so far.

Has he done any designs yet and printed them? Don’t concentrate on hen and stag stuff, why not sell his own designs.

My mum had the same probs with epilepsy, but she’s learned to ignore what other people think and go for it. It’s a bigger problem for other people than for her!

Good luck Bill and if you need any more help etc just ask.

    Cheers

    Lee

Bill, sorry can’t help with the disc because I don’t do that sort of thing myself but if your lad is such a talented artist why don’t you just get him to do his own designs. That way they would be unique which would also be a good selling point and it would also give him a greater input into the business. If he has problems drawing on the screen with a mouse like I do then you could always buy a graphics tablet which I personally find makes it a lot easier.

or draw it freehand, scan it, then using corel autotrace to vector. that said, if its being printed scanned and cleaned would be ok, would it not?

Robert I was thinking about the time involved in drawing freehand, scanning then vectorising and cleaning up but if it is to be printed then there would be no need to vectorise so drawing freehand and scanning would be just as quick.

before we moved into signs my dad had promotional business that did banners, t-shirts, mugs etc etc when i went there during summer as a boy i would sit drawing this sort of thing up onto paper with a small marker pen.
funny cartoons and things for stags etc it would then be scanned and pressed directly to t-shirts. it did require being trimmed around the image to loos any silhouette of the paper grain also being printed but worked great and was quick because once you had a master copy you just kept it and run loads.
i would imagine things have moved much further and would be easier these days but still work on the same principle.

    Hello Bill
I can’t help with a disk either, but did you know that there’s a pretty good forum that’s dedicated to T shirt printing? Just thought it might give your lad a bit of inspiration, and get his artistic juices flowing 🙂 🙂

Thanks everyone I have tried asking the same question on a few forums without luck and if there is not a positive reply from this the biggest then the disk might not even exist we have been trying a few of our own designs on vinyl heat pressed on so now the next stage is the dye sub

    thanks a lot

i could be wrong mate, but i remember many moons ago buying corel, it came with a multitude of clipart images, funny, serious, corporate etc etc thats maybe an idea?
other than that, PC world sell loads of clipart disks, £10 for something like 60,000 clipart images… ide think there MUST be something on them?
