    Hi all,

I’m looking for some help with a quote as i have never renewed existing work before and obviously dont want to be to high or to low.
My client has a 2000mm x 700mm perspex framed panel. This needs to be removed from the frame,
then cleaned ready for the appliclation of a digitally printed panel of 7yr laminated vinyl of the same size (which i have designed).
Then returned to the frame. Hope this all makes sense. What would you charge?

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

I would charge four hours at £50.00 per hour or sell a new piece of material.

Dave, I don’t know where you are located but I would have thought £150 was far to cheap, I would have thought Peters £200 was maybe a little low as well, How long has it taken you to design the print for them? Whats on the panel already and how long do you think it will take to clean? What equipment do you need to remove and re-fit the panel? Will you manage with a ladder or will you need scaffold?

Don’t know what the going rate for digital print is but from reading the boards most people would be charging somewhere around the £100 just for the print if it is laminated.

The design only took my around 1/2 hour. I can get to it with a ladder so will not require scaffolding. Got a good price on the print around £50. Fortunately the panel is in good condition it has the last design on the rear so wont need removing just a little cleaning. Thanks for the advice. Just shows how little you know and that’s why i posted it here.

    Thanks again

    2m x 700mm with laminate on 7yr……..
removing existing panel and graphics and cleaning…..
    design, application etc………
    re fitting panel….

I really think it’s at least a £300 job but I would charge more

    Cheers

i obviously dont know work put into designing, if a nice design etc you have to charge for your time but also try selling up on how your design is better than the competitors.
you then have your travel, labour, clean, apply, travel and refit onto as well as your pint lam etc etc if this was local to me ide probably settle for £250+vat but thats on a no brainer type design and by local i mean in the same town.

i have no doubt many will undercut you, but take "everything into account" and see if it is worth while before trying to undercut anyone.
sometimes it pays to walk away than grasp at any job.

if they want to save money, i always suggest things like… remove the sign and bring it to us, we will apply graphics and you can fit yourself…
works sometimes, others they say, "nah, just do it for the price you quoted" 😀

But in all honesty.. You have to take the thing down, clean it, apply new display and re-fit it. 2m is a long length to hold on your own be careful on that ladder. I would look for at least 300 +vat

    Hi all,

Thanks for all your replies and advice. Put in the quote today for £275 as the job is close to me and that seems to be somewhere in the middle. Will let you know what happens.

    Cheers Dave
