What is weeding?

Sorry if it sounds a bit thick (I am new to this) but what is weeding??

Only I have just been looking at the settings on my software and it has an option for easy weeding..

its when you peel the vinyl around the shape you are cutting. Basically removing the excess to create the shape you cut.

So what does it actually do if I click on the easy weeding? (and don’t say make it easier)

and does it really work?

what it does is cut extra lines in the waste material so it comes off in smaller pieces instead of one whole area. Try it and see.

Personally I never use it. If you have the correct pressure set, with a good blade you can literally grab one side of the vinyl and just pull – leaving all the letters behind…except for reflective 🙄

I always use a power weed. Got so used to it and it makes weeding much easier, especially if there are numerous rows of text. 😀

you’re a braver man than me Dave ! i always make extra cut lines and boxes etc to seperate logo’s, text, etc,

I’m with you Dave. I use American vinyl. One yank and its off!
Long as the cutter is set up properly tho 🙄

i think that might be fair to say with larger graphics or lettering, but not with small stuff, and even then i wouldn’t consider ‘yanking’ it off !!

its only a bit of vinyl give it a good pull now and again else you will never know what you can get away with.

about the only thing i can pull 😉

Actually, as I am sure you know, you don’t need to smoke. A friend of mine bakes some very interesting cakes. 😀
