hi people got a bit of an emergency situation hare and wondered if anyone can help .Ive had a customer thats been putting a job off for ages ….then it was on …then off you know the type .The thing is he now has decided he really needs it for Friday Monday at the latest !!! Its an internal sign for his property office .Clear acrylic 6ftx2ft….edges polished .Iwas going to use standoffs on the interior wall. I know that stockline can do it in Dundee but they send it to Glasgow to get the edges polished …its all time and thad would take 5 days !!. Just wondered if there was anyone (supplier) obviously in Scotland that i could just turn up …pay for the job and back home so to speak .I really dont want to let the customer down because hes a good customer and a decent guy but sometimes thing just aint possible 😀 😀

you can hand polish in an emergency.

scrape edges to remove any saw marks, sand down with a 240 grit wet and dry with plenty of soapy water, then 600 then 800 etc until you get a nice flat finish, then just t-cut it and it comes up clear.

alternatively you can buy a small hand held butane torch, electronic shops sell them I think, they give off a nice flame (but a bit too hot) and with a bit of practice you can get a reasonable finish.

If you are going to flame the edges though, remember not to clean the finished product with metho, or it will craze the perspex prematurely…
