  • whats the best way to apply vinyl onto roller shutters?

I really hate applying to the back of lutons with roller shutters. I normally apply as normal then spend 20 to 30 minutes cutting between the slats. ..

How does everybody else tackle these jobs ? do you cut on site or do you pre cut the slots !

Dave i have done a few of these and fit the same way you do. I cut just before each shutter gap, leaving no chance of the vinyl getting near the edge of each slat in the shutter door

Morning Rich. . I really appreciated your help last week, my locator’s never turned up in the end 🙁 !
I’ve got some letters to order this week so I’ll make sure to sort you out with replacements asap.

dont just slit between the slats, slit a mill back from the edge of the slats.
yes this means basically two cuts per space on each slat but works far better in the long run. also, once done, give it a good back along each line with a heat gun.

I normally just slit it on site like Robert and Rich do, have also done it in the design and weeded out before application, works alright with new shutters with no damage but you need to make sure you have measured accurately to ensure the gaps are in the right place when you fit it. :lol1:

If you don’t measure accurately to program cut you’ll get a progresive error 🙁 1mm out on the first will translate to 2mm on the second etc etc
