• PSF Files?

Posted by graffica on 12 April 2007 at 17:37

I´ve received some PSF files from a customer, but can´t open or import them using any of the usual programmes … Corel, Illustrator, Photoshop.
Have never come across PSF before, so any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks. Chris

    Hi Dave,
There I went to the site you recommended, and found that PSF files open with Photoshop. I´d already tried this and got the same message that the file format is unknown.
Have contacted the client who´s sent it in Photoshop and it´s now OK.
But thanks for your help anyway

for future reference, .psf files with ArcSoft PhotoStudio or the .psf extension can be renamed to .jpg and opened in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

.psf = Palette Storage Format. This type of file is able to store color settings used by Photoshop to provide accurate previews of how images will look when they are printed.
