How to remove dust from vinyl before printing
Hi all,
I am new on uksignboards.
I got a problem with dust. When I start to print you can see dust through the color.
Should I just wipe (first half meter) surface with cloth before printing? Or is there any tools for this?
Can I keep vinyl in the printer or is it better to put it on the side when I finish?Thanks

I have a clean feather duster that I run over the vinyl before I print sometimes.
The best way to solve this problems tho, is store the roll in a plastic sleeve. That will be a big help. Also, make sure you wear cotton gloves when you handle the rolls. You’ll have better finish and no finger marks in the start of the print.

hi, see if you can get rid of your carpet, put a partition wall up or something to put your printer in a small room, keep good tempreture and the dust will be a minimal.

I keep my rolls upright on the plastic end cap that the roll comes on. Then I cut the end of the box off and put that over the roll when not in use. I write on the box what vinyl is inside. I also use a small strip of masking tape at each end of the roll to stop it unwinding in storage as you don’t print right on the ends anyway. I always use the roller ends to aid handling so as not to actually touch the surfaces. I also store the last used roll on the rollers with a sheet of paper covering the roll to stop any dust settling on it, and have creased the paper in half so that when you take it off to use the printer you keep the inside of the paper dust free too. The last used roll is also a reminder of which profile is set up on the menu, gives you a quick check before wasting time ripping the wrong profile. Yes we have all done that a few times I’m sure.
