sounds like you are sending a command to the cutter, to cut a sheet wider than is actually in the cutter.

Its a pretty basic command, but usually relates to incorrect data being sent ie x or y coordinates being incorrect

    Hope that helps

but it does it even when the design i am cutting is much smaller than the sheet size?

it will cut part of the design then stop for a second, and then cut wrongly while displaying the "err 2 wrong parameters" message.

I’d say its a problem with your motherboard then.

The fact that it gets the command and starts cutting indicates the communication is OK.

It may be a memory problem, a corrupt memory chip will display a result like this, in which case you’ll need the motherboard checked.

Alistair, are you using the correct cable or an off the shelf item ?
It sounds to me as though the comp is not communicating correctly with the cutter.
We now use a serial cable wired to specs from Roland and have no dramas.

It’s just a standard (off the shelf) parallel cable.

What are the roland specs for a serial cable? maybe i can try that?

I’d need to set up the port settings too, i guess? (can you help)? 🙄

If you email sherrardl@’deletethis’optusnet.com.au I may be able to help with the specs.
