Steve, Why do you need it vectorised for print?
high res tif or jpg is what I would go for…

ive done it before on the cadet, i just lightly spray-glued the tarten (dabbed a cloth then dabbed the material), made sure it was all lined up ok on the scanner, then after it was scanned ok, went into photoshop and made any changes to the colour…it printed great 😀

you’ll be able to download it from any kiltmaker or tartan website …….. you may be able to get a decent jpeg ?????? I did it this way before and it was printed on a soljet, then I ran it through the plotter to cut the tartan text from it.

the real problem i have is that i do not have an actual piece of cloth, only the image posted, as this was sent from the customer, so i dont have a "complete" piece to work from.

Don’t know where you would get it, but I know there is a CD with just about every conceivable tartan in vector format. All the clans, football clubs…even daft stuff like an ‘IRN BRU’ tartan.
(Worked for somebody who bought one for doing HGV cabs)
Try a web search – might get lucky.
