  • How do we fit trough lights?

Posted by Deleted User on 19 March 2007 at 16:35

Hi everyone, we usually buy trough lights already built, but this time we decided to buy in the pieces and assemble our own. The trough light is from universal and was supplied by robert horne. My question is how do we fit the tube holders and the gear trays into the light case without the screws, riverts etc coming out through the top of the casing. Again, all help appreciated.

David sorry to hijack your post a bit but was it much cheaper to buy in component form rather than pre assembled? Not sure about fittings without making holes in the casing , maybe VHB tape or something along the same lines. I would phone universal and ask them I am sure they would help.

    Simple answer is you can’t.
Drill through the trough and rivitt from the outside in. This way you only see a small round head.

there will be a small channel which is possibly 10-14mm wide in the section running the length of material which normally you fix nuts and bolts in and slide along to suit your position is this right or am i confused no need for visible fixings
