fitting alucom to metal
Just finished making a 2×4 foot 3mm Alucom sign for outside an industrial estate unit and I plan to fit it myself.
I was going to attach a spirit level plum with the bottom of the sign and stick onto the metal cladding with double sided tape before fixing with some self tapping screws.
Can anyone think of any pitfalls and can anyone recommend which kind of tape I could use?

Why use the tape? I suppose it will hold the sign whilst you fix it with screws, but for a small sign like that I would simply fix one corner and then pivot it on the fixing until level before drilling the opposite corner.
As for tape, seeing as it is only temporary, any half decent foam tape should do, but I wouldn’t use any.

Ye I suppose, I was just imagining it would be more secure if I had to keep repositioning the ladder to reach each side with the drill, but I take your point.
