Pop up media ?
Hi All,
Newbie question i’m afraid.
I’ve been lucky enough to get an order for a job lot of roll-ups and bought the media recommended to me by Amari.
HydroSol 150 with an over laminate. Printed a batch off yesterday and have just gone to take them off the roll to laminate and half are stuck to the back of the roll.
I’m using Shiraz and printing on a JV3. There isn’t a hydrosol profile in shiraz so I’m using the hexis profile for roll-ups.
Any advice on the profile or is it the media
or am I doing somthing wrong.Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Help Me…….

i use a different make but have to hang them separately to dry 24 hrs.
i have a bar sticking out of the wall that i use clip on coat hangers.chris

I’m just babysitting the reprints right now and will have to laminate them tomorrow lunchtime before the courier arrives.
I’m a bit surprised that I can’t let my take up roll do its job. and the fact that it only happened on a couple and not all,

it might not be the profile as such mate… prints come out of these machines touch dry, but press it against something for long enough the tack may bond and separation can be difficult without spoiling the prints.
I’m guessing you mean the take-up roll has wound the prints and they are sticking?
we normally just allow the print to spill onto the floor, face up. when printed we cut it and sit it aside or like Chris, hang it up while the next one prints.
a temp measure is to stretch a length of rope across the room tight.
you can do this near a back wall and stagger the rope at 3 levels to hold more prints.
then using bull clips or the mini clip/clamps you get in multi packs from b&q just hang your prints on the rope.
we use the gloss roll-up material from europoint, but i dont laminate. -
Cheers for the post Rob, I have changed the profile setting and its a little better, but I am doing as the pro’s say and cutting and hanging as I go.

On another note, Just knocked out 6 banners with hem’s and eyelet’s in half the time after your training video.

great to hear the videos are of use mate… thanks for the feedback.
the profile i am sure andrew uses is just the standard 5-7 year vinyl profile that comes bundled with our machine. that said, we are using troop with a grenadier printer.

Hi there,
You will know better than me but i would be wary of laminating after only 1 day , solvent is still evaporating if you trap it the laminate wont stay on for long as the solvent will try to escape,some Hydrosol has a scuff resistant surface so may not need laminating.

yep.. we have that material here…. also same RIP and printer and same problem.
We use Kernow/Kentmere product now, still sticky on solid dark fills but we also have to swing the prints out of the machine. We also blast them with a massive stand fan to get them touch dry while they are printing. Hard stuff to print
