Does any of you know if Inkjet vinyl will stick ok to a time trial helmet?

I gotsome white inkjet vinyl from ebay and have succesfully printed some logos with epsons Durabrite ultra ink.

Do you think I should be using another type of vinyl? O would clear stuff be better

I also have a small hobbbyist type laminator so I could make them waterproof.

Stickers isnt something i’ve tried before; Its for a friend of a friend thats during a charity tandem run from John o groats to lands end and they only have to look good for a couple of months on the run up to the event; and then a week in the elements during the trip.

James the first thing I would do is check the warranty on the helmet, it should be OK to put stickers on helmets these days but I believe some manufacturers still stipulate what you can and can’t use material wise.
Secondly I don’t think ultra inks are really that good outside when exposed to UV all the time so you might need to do them a few sets if they want them to look good for 2 or 3 months.
Any clear laminate over the top will help but I would try it myself first as it is possible that if water gets between the vinyl and the laminate it will affect the print.

    tks Martin

Giving him a few sets is a good idea incase they go off in anyway.

sometimes youve got to just try something to see if it works eh

This isn’t for profit so its just a bit of experience and hes sending me all the artwork.

He didnt realise I could do magnetics and he needs quite a few for the support vehicle (sponsers ans stuff), so it could lead to a few more contacts.

James, yes I understood from your first post that you weren’t doing it for profit but even though they are not paying you they will want it doing properly and I am not convinced durabright inks are up to the job which was why I said do a few sets.
The sponsors will probably be quite happy to pay for magnetics as they will realise the value of the advertising, especially if he can get it seen on the telly at all so make sure your friend tells the sponsors you can do this before they get magnetics made up elsewhere.
