Acrylic sign blanks

Hi Guys

I have a request to make an open/closed hanging door sign for a shop. I was thinking of using Acrylic (like a small number plate) drill holes, apply vinyl and hang with chain and suction cup.

Where can I buy Acrylic blanks (like a small number plate) or is there a better way of doing this?

You can buy number plate blanks from Grafityp on the home page but not sure if you have to be registered to supply number plates to buy them. You could also use HIPS (High impact Plastic) which is supplied by people like Europoint but not sure if they have a minimum order on number of sheets. How big a bit do you need as I am sure there are plenty of people on here that would happily send you a small offcut for something like this as you don’t really have any stock built up yet.

That’s the problem, I don’t want to buy a full sheet when all I need is a piece about 250mm x 100mm. I thought there might be somewhere that would sell pieces.

I will try Europoint and see if they will even sell me an off cut if they have any.

The is a company down the road from me who sell acrylic cut to size in small quantities but not sure if they will send out via carrier but worth a calll I would say. They are POS Plastics and there number is 01924 276666

dave, if he is in Croydon it would be worth Warren paying them a visit just to see what other substrates he may be able to supply and get a price list from them.

Warren if you pay them a visit you may even be able to pick up a sample bit that is big enough to use for a door sign :lol1: Well if you don’t ask you don’t get !!

You are right Martin, Croydon is only about 20 minutes from me and I go there quiet often to shop so going by there is a really good idea.
