  • No vehicle outline, no vehicle to photo or measure!

Basically a friend has asked me to sign up his rally car but he wants to see how its going to look before he gives me the go ahead.

Normally I would use an outline or photo but as the car is a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV, I obviously haven’t got an outline for this. The other problem is that I can’t go and take a photo of it as he hasn’t picked the car up yet…

So I was wondering if anyone has a simple way of demonstrating to a customer how it might look when you don’t have an outline?

I’m thinking I’d better just wait until he has the car!

But if anyone knows where to get hold of outlines for the vast range of Mitsubishi Lancers and Subaru Imprezzas please let me know!

Binnes may be a brochure from the dealer or have a look at the web site they may have dimensions for you to work with.

    quote Binnes:

I would be asking for the "go ahead" before you go to all the trouble of creating a mock up for him 😕

You can’t run a proper sign business doing vehicle signs if you don’t have a vehicle outline library, so the first thing I would do if I were you is invest in a proper vehicle outline disc 😀

Thanks Richard, that is an EVO VI Tommi Makkinen edition. I’ll have to try and investigate whether the wheels are standard…

Chris, do you have a contact number for Impact? I already have a number of vehicle outline disks, but the ones I have don’t have any Mitsubishi Lancers or many Subaru Imprezzas on them.

The main problem is that as these cars are evolution specials built almost solely for rallying, they are quite rare (OK maybe not the subaru!) and have their design face lifted every 12 months.

I’m heavily into the rally scene and have been getting more and more requests from rally car owners so its about time I invested in the right outlines.

Phill, I never intended to get into signs at all, let alone vehicle signs, its just kind of happened! So yes, I do need to do more investment!

I just hadn’t thought about scaling an image up. I’m too thick obviously.
