apart from this web address, as I don’t want to get anything else and the minimum order and delivery is too high, ThanksMike Uhruski replied 18 years, 10 months ago 7 Members · 7 Replies -

Alister why do you want one? a sharp scalpel or needle will do the same job 🙄

Just thought it would be handy really, prefer using a pin, but keep losing it under all the other tools. 😛

Alistair I think graphityp do a similar gadget, If have a couple knocking about, but they are a bit dangerous. If you forget that its not a pen and decide to pick your nose or ears with it….or scratch a phone number on the back of your hand!!

How about having a go at making one. Convert a clickpen, Remove the metal nib from the plastic ink tube. Best use a old empty pen as this would be messy. get a needle and glue it in the tube.
Result clickpen needle vinyl bubble popper thinghy. -
Michael, I have wanted to try that for a long time. Trouble is I keep losing the pens before the ink runs out :lol1:
Alistair, it sounds like you have far to much money, just send it all to me then you won’t have to worry about buying all these fancy gadgets that you don’t really need. Signmakers aren’t suppose to get bubbles so you shouldn’t need one anyway !!!!

The theory behind these types of tools – 3M make one called an air release tool, is that with the best will in the world a scalpel or blade will make a slit rather than a hole. This tool makes a round hole, therefore the tension on the vinyl is equal all around, a slit makes an unequal tension situation – theoretically making it more likely that the vinyl will split open over a period of time.
