Not really, although I have had this before when opening the file by double clicking it and it tries to open up in the wrong application.

If it’s emailable, whack it over to me and I’ll try it here.

Its probably the file is in a newer format?

can you post the file so some one can look at it for you?

What’s "emailable" – is that a real word or something you’ve just invented 😕

It means it is possible to be emailed.

Sounds like a perfectly good word to me. Well, I like it anyway. 😀

I thought maybe it was cockney rhyming slang or summat 😕

(Notice how I have managed to craftily hi-jack this thread without anyone noticing :lol1: )

    James,

same here. I tried opening it in X3, CS2 and also signlab. CS2 just open as a long list of text. Nothing in Signlab and CorelX3 just came up with a file error when trying to import it. 😕

    No there isn’t.

    It’s a corrupted file.

You will need to get it sent again.

    Sorry. 🙁

they’ve sent another in ai and all seemed well but on closer inspection it a mess.

I cant post it for you all to look at and its not obvious whats wrong but if you could see the logo thats on there vans and the brochures that prontoprint produced there are some annoying irregularities.

Ill have to show the customer what they have sent and get there go ahead.

tks everyone will let you all know what happens.

    Hi Guys,
There is a serious bug in Illustrator CS2 that causes DXF files to open as text. Ask for a EPS or a PDF file.
There is no solution except to import the DXF file into another program and save it as an EPS.

    I’ll remember that Jerry

    Thats the job done.

The file prontopront sent wasn’t up to much but it looks OK.

Hope I’m not counting my chickens the customer hasn’t seen it yet.

tks 4 everyones effort and patience.
