Dave did you import into SL and the tick the pdf box on the EPS import box? works fine for me?

All help appreciated on this – but the conversion just was causing mayhem for my SL. (7.0 r1) Go figure?!?

I opted out of the ‘real’ file & cheated a bit as the shading was a killer in vector ‘fountain’ steps.

Imported into PS at 2500dpi – converted to monochrome & imported into SL – vectorised & re-coloured.

The little bit of shading on the globe can be missed out at the moment – until the proofs are approved.

    Again cheers guys.

    David,

File did actually take quite a long time to load in SL.
For what it’s worth I’m using 7.1 revision 1, Major version 7, Minor version 1, Build 7. Is that different to you?

In the end – this is what I vectorised…turned out pretty much spot on as far as the outlines went. Will do for production too unless client wants the ‘map’ illuminated – then i can render it to a JPG for print.

All i wanted was a vector to do sizing & superimosed layouts!! What fun 🙄

My Signlab just isn’t playing ball with most of these eps files!! Just does….nothing. v7.0 r1

Dave, when you import the EPS to SL are you setting it to import as PDF? cos that works for me.

Is that not just on V7.1?

I’m ‘only’ on 7.0 (r1) so can’t do pdf imports….only original ‘vector’ or rendered to a bitmap.

oh sorry mate if its just on 7.1, when you import an EPS do you get a box come up asking you how to import it? (ESP- JPG-PDF)

it works fine in CorelDraw X13 if you have that

    David,
That’s obviously one of the differences between 7.0 and 7.1 – there’s another update/revision coming along very soon. It might be worth making the jump to that when it’s released. In the meantime don’t hesitate to ask if you want something done again.

well one of the main reason I buy Corel on each upgrade is for the PDF filter, Adobe keep making new PDF formats grrr

Sorry Dave. When I came across this post, it had seemed that you’d already received good help (see above). BTW, there is definitely a more recent SignLab 7.0 than rev1, so you might want to ring the UK office about that.

?? 😮 Do you mean that customer keep sending you PDF files that are only compatible with latest Adobe? That is bothersome because you would expect people to save their PDFs in a fashion that was compatible with older readers.

    Cheers,
