Hi Justin, Have you chipped your printer?
The original cartridges have a decoder chip built into them, where as cheaper replacements don’t.
Have a look on ebay and do a search for… Novajet Decoder Chip…. I think they are about £25 and easy enough to fit. It should come with fitting instructions.I hope this helps mate Paul

Hi mate, thanks for that i have got a decoder i got them both together. 1st it seems not to draw ink from the ink wells, with the compats in and will not print anything from my pc / cant understand this one either (no air bubbles in any of the pipes ) 2nd since i posted the topic, i’ve taken the chip back out and put the orinignal carts back in and it now works apart from the black which needs replacing, would you no y this is happening

Hi again, I take it you have primed the cartridges? I normally use a syringe to fill the cartridge with about 25% ink from the top. Then reattach the pipe from the ink reservoirs and use the vacuum pump to pull the ink through from the res. If your chip was faulty I would have thought you would get an error message of some sort. Hi thanks for that, yes i have primed them and they use what inks in them untill it emptys, but i will give that a try with filling them up 1st
many thanks for the help so far

Sorry Justin, I have been away for the weekend. How did you get on mate? Paul

Hi mate, nope got the machine to prime but i cant get it to print, i use flexisign, i send it to print the pc thinks its printing but its not printing, ant ideas??
-
Have you tried printing a test page straight from windows? Were you printing from flexi before you had this problem and did you try printing from flexi once you put the old carts back in? Did you follow the installation for installing the decoder chip properly? I know I shouldn’t ask that as I am sure you did but there are a couple of settings you need to change/set in the control panel on the printer once you have installed the chip.
-
Hi, yes it was fine before and after i removed the chip and put the old ones back in, but i did not get sent any instructions of how to install, chip is in right but what settings need changing on the printer?? cheers

Jus, flippin heck I am going to have to try and remember !!! It was a couple of years ago now and for an 850 but I believe they use the same basic set up, hopefully Paul will come along and still have his instructions !!!
Email the guy you bought them from because they should have sent instructions out with it.

Mate the hassles that I’ve had with the guys i got them from, u wouldn’t believe, the worst company ever took 3 weeks to get hear no contact details and they never answer my emails, so iam stuck with these things that don’t work.

Some are like that some are good but the carts will probably be OK once you have everything set up right.
Try this link as I think they may be able to help, I believe all if not most of the decoders are the same so this may help.http://www.globalprintsupply.com/mall/N … rChips.asp

Hi Justin, I’ll have a look in the morning to see if I still have the fitting instructions. Like Martin I did mine a couple a few years ago so it’s all a bit vague.
I’ll have a good look at it tomorrow when I’m in the shop, then get back to you tomorrow night with what I find mate.Paul
