  • FREE WRAPPING COURSE??

Posted by Stephen Ingham on 31 January 2007 at 23:31

Hi all, just a quick question regarding the free wrapping courses that PrintMax were offering at the end of last year.

We attended one of their road shows and was promised a place on a free wrapping course, "dates to be arranged" we were told.

The sales rep chased me for a while trying to get me to cash in my roland versacamm for a cadet, but since we told him it wasn’t gunna happen at the moment he no longer returns my call.

I have sent him numerous emails enquiring about the wrapping course but he dunt answer…

Has anyone actually been on one of these "free" courses??

If he doesn’t respond soon im gunna start "shouting" and he aint gunna like what i have to say……..

    cheers

Same thing Steven, I attended the roadshow, and even though I bought a mimaki, was assured ( have an email to verify)the course was still available, unfortunately, booked up for a long time in the future. all I can say, bad sales pitch, you get nowt for nowt , and B&P didn’t get my vote,
They didn’t even mention the free wrapping course at the roadshow.

the point is Steven, as you point out, they did offer a one day wrap course, if you attended the roadshow, that was the condition, not that you bought a machine, anyway, I still have the chance to book the course, doubt if I will though,

I felt that the offer was not really a genuine one,

any one been on the course without a purchase?

I have just spoken to B&P and they tell me that Febuary is booked up but there are places available March onwards..so why are they not honouring their offer?????

I think a quick email to BBCs Watchdog may be called for..

I was disappointed with the course. It was basic wrapping and covered that OK if you just want to lay a patterned print on a motor. The instructor suggested that was all you need as any text would be cut vinyl stuck on the top. As we all know that’s not the case with most wraps that you see. I think that aligning pieces across panels, joins and leveling text etc are the difficult bits. These were not covered. The buffet lunch was crap too!!

I would presume this offer was meant for people actually buying a machine from them. I would also presume they have fucked up like hoover did years ago. I don’t think you’ll ever see your course mate.
If the offer was to train you with or without a purchase then you do have a legal stance on your side.

Karl it was only for the introductory one day course, and was if you attended the sales Roadshow, I have it confirmed in writing that I can book the course. but to be honest I dont think I need to. I was just asking for comments as was Ste from others who had attended the Roadshow and if they had successfully booked the course.

I know what you are saying pete. This was my comment. The fact is many firms come up with crazy ideas and then don’t honour them. Personally I don’t beleive in the word free. Nothing is for free.
    Just my opinion! 😎

hi all, my man at europoint says they are planning on running a couple, but has been delayed due to no suitably heated accomodation..and the guys who run the courses are very particular.

I think the Avery course is meant to be good, but it’s often booked up quickly. Just make sure you do one where they wrap vans as they are the harder to do than cars and will likely be the jobs you get asked to do.

my lad went to spandex for a day which cost £100 plus a load of points.
it covered most of the tricky bits and hands on training, and has been very helpful for us both.
