    Chloroform.

Yup, works great for ‘glue free’ projects. Dunno who’ll sell it to you these days as your local chemist might have some issues!!

Or just Tensol as it’s likely that the holders will have cards in them 99% of the time so any irregularities in the glue will be hidden.

Chloroform sounds a great idea, I´m sure I can get it over the counter, the PC brigade have not reached here yet.

    Cheers guys

If you’ve never used chloroform to glue plastics before – it’s ‘fun’ – no really.

Work in a WELL ventilated area, high concentrations of it can inhibit the reflex breathing pattern…ie. get out if you drop the bottle…

If you can get chloroform – try to get an all GLASS syringe & a thin all steel needle. Put say 10ml in the syringe, place the objects in their positions. If you feel you must tape them – keep the tape AWAY from the chloroform!!

Put the needle up against the egde of the item and gently flood it in. Capillary action will pull it in pretty well. Don’t move them! Any overspill evaporates almost invisibly.

If you are ‘brave’ you can put a small amount onto the back sheet & place your holders over it.

Well, that’s how I used to do it.

Perfect description of the method David. Saved me typing it! On smaller stuff you can use an artist’s brush against the edge, if you can’t be arsed with syringes.

ps. It’s a fantastic solvent…just don’t read this… if you plan on sleeping comfortably!!

    Hence…WELL ventilated

No worse than Tensol or ‘thixafix’.
