Hi I have just started using my creation 630 cutter and I want to cut stencils. My software is signgo and I want to add bars(im sure there is a technical term but I dont know it) to hold the bits together ie. if you take a lower case "e" its fine to cut as a sign and weed out the eye (another techterm??) and its ready to stick obviously as a stencil I need something to hold eye in place so that i can spray letter. Its probably me but I cant figure it out,and if I cant do something simple like that it doesnt bode well for more complex stencils.Do I need vector art for stencils? Help please.Mike

I don’t know your software but the normal way is to trim some rectangles from the letters where you want the bars.

I’m sure someone who knows Signgo will be along soon to give you a proper answer……..

You need vector artwork for anything you are cutting on a plotter, there is a material you can get to produce stencils that can be used more than once but can’t remember what its called just now.

For fonts try checking some of the font sites as I am sure I have seen some stencil type fonts on some of the free font sites, for other types of artwork you could always weld/join small rectanges between pieces to keep it all together but I would image it would be quite time consuming and you wouldn’t want to do anything to complex.

AS MARTIN SAYS, FREE FONT SITES NORMALLY HOLD SOME GOOD EXAMPLES OF A STENCIL FONT. I COULD BE WRONG BUT I THINK THE ACTUAL FONT "STENCIL" CAN EASILY BE FOND ON THESE SITES.

    sorry about the caps 😕
