i have had success with the print A4 then scan ideally print onto a photo paper. You normally find that images go slightly blurred when you increase the DPI by software.Kev

as kevin says.
you could try adding a little bluer then increasing the resolution a bit at a time not one big jump then a bit of unsharp mask depends on the original image but could help.
i have never had any success at all with dedicated image enhancing software but perhaps i was expecting to much like what it said it could do on the box.Chris

this is probably a daft question but is there no way of getting/recreating the image in question rich?

I use Photozoom Pro. It’s a brilliant little program for upscaling an image to any resolution with excellent (and sometimes astounding) results. I think you can download the free demo version for a try-before-you-buy. http://www.benvista.com/main/content/content.php?page=ourproducts§ion=photozoompro_3

sorry i go for the quick reply, like when writing a text message.
-
don’t do texting just talk fast and forget to take a breath !!!! 😀 I will probably expire one of these days because of that Lynn 🙄
-
no offence intended Richard, I am just useless at working out sentences without the dots and commas.
-
I talk very fast. I don’t take a breath, if i were writing a letter i would be more inclined to write correctly, however i,m not the best at punctuating I can’t be good at all areas of sign making, i,m better with my hands.

I think i will have to give sign uk a miss now. I don’t want people chasing me round the place with bags of punctuation now do I . I will try harder next time, if i get the chance.

Hey mate, I’m in sunny SEQLD (Waterford West – between Brisbane and the Gold Coast). Last time I was in Tassie was in the late 70’s. I guess it has changed a bit since then 😳 Welcome again mate, they are a great bunch here.

My old stomping ground Shane! I lived in Brisbane for 15 years, moved down here 4 years ago. It’s a small world on the internet! Thanks again for the welcome, mate. I would have to agree about the people here 😀 PS, sorry Robert, I just realised with the avatar – mug-shots only 😮

Richard, you could also try this little trick in Photoshop to clean up a blurred image to some extent, it works very well once you get the hang of it. 1) Open image go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, now you are going to have to play around with how much blur you really wanna use, you wanna be able to blur the image a little more but not to the point where its unrecognizable. 2) After the filter has been applied go to Edit > Fade Gaussian Blur 3) The opacity should be dialed in @ 100% and the Mode should be "Hard Light". You may have to dial the opacity down depending on the image you are working on, but trust me this technique works well. I found that it works even better when you duplicate the layer then apply this effect, then on the layer with the effect you turn the opacity down to 90% and merge it over the original layer.
