Is there a medical supplier or even an arts/craft shop nearby?
Most carry blades / handles.
Bulk buy your masking tape from Wickes / B&Q.

James, the only way to really find out is to buy a roll and try it. I bought a roll from B&Q once as I was out of my usual stuff and spent hours removing the tape and glue it left behind.
I now tend to buy tape from a sign supplier and put up with the postage or delivery costs. I tend to buy a box of 36 rolls at a time and by the time I have added on a couple of other bits and bobs I am normally over the amount I need to spend for free delivery. -
James, I don’t have a supplier at the moment as I am not really working but I used to use Grafityp who are on the home page. Buying 36 rolls at a time meant that I was getting it at a price much cheaper than places like B&Q, Homebase etc.
They do blades for scalpels as well so by the time you have got your tape and a box of spare blades you are sort of half way towards what you need to spend for free delivery. As they do a wide range of signmaking equipment it is quite easy to make it up with items you know you are going to use so you don’t feel that you are buying rubbish just so you can get the free delivery !!!

any motor factor suppliers will supply good tape 3m etc. there are more body repair people out there than sign makers and they don’t put up with the crap stuff.
-
for good making tape as others have said motor factors every time 😀

Don’t buy masking tape from B&Q or Homebase, it costs a fortune and is rubbish. Millers city art shop in Stockwell Street G1 4RT is good for blades, masking tape, straight edges and any other bits and bobs you might need.

jimmy, Winzer Wurth is the largest supplier of hardware to trade people, they are like a large Screwfix but all quality products. The masking tape is designed for the motor trade so does not leave any adhesive.
I also get cleaning cloths, glass cleaner, screws, adhesives, tools etc etc. They are well worth a visit Jimmy and open an account.Dave

We buy by the box,(20 rolls) not 3m but just as good, about a quid a roll, 50mm, anybody pay less for good stuff? We get it from local motor factor.

They must be like any other big company Dave, depends who you deal with. Don’t want to put people off but I had some dealings with them and wouldn’t go back, not impressed with the quallity of some of their gear and also got quoted one price and charged another. That was a couple of years ago so maybe they have changed.
