what equipment do i need to letter lennon’s rolls royce?
Posted by charley weed on 9 January 2007 at 18:22Hi all
I’ve been toying with setting up part time in the vinyl side of signs, I’ve a modest sized unit down the yard and I’ve vinyl coming out of my ears.
From what I gather from the boards its not as easy as it seems.so for my newbie question…
I’d like to transform my car in the style of John Lennon’s roller
Is a plotter cutter the only bit of tech’ that I’d need?
Would I need a printer or lay vinyl over vinyl?
Are the graphics from this car available anywhere?
Would I need permission to do this?Should I begin with a Jack on a mini roof?
All feedback welcomed
Thanks in advance
Charley

I would think that the roller was painted anyway, I seem to remember it as being a bit flower power…Psychedelic style, do you have a pic?

Seems a sin do vinyl or print it.
Bring it to a Letterhead meet and let us go crazy on it.
(you’ll need reference pix of course)

I’m not sure if you would need permission to do this car in the style of John Lennons Rolls Royce – but if you do I doubt very much that you would get it……he’s been dead for 26 years 😕

Phill.
like me you probably remember where you were when he got the bullet.
Anyway must look through my old pics, I have one of Lennon’s merc 1000 Pullman, I delivered it to the docks many years ago, and the dockers had great fun being driven round the quayside. it even had a 45record player in the back!!

he-he I’m tired from working nights,
I wish I had a roller but alas mines only a mercedes.
Yes the roller is in a museum in Canada Micky.
Yes Peter it was painted in a psychedelic gypsy coachwork style and I have some pics I started collecting but I’m afraid not enough of detail.
Jill…Thanks for the offer … it is a sin to vinyl or print but it won’t half boot up my asking price when the time comes, what is a letterhead meet? and where’s the next?
Has it only been 26 years Phill? jeez I was babysitting at the time, come to think of it, I was when Elvis passed too…. ha ha Don’t hire me!
The Daimler sounded original Robert, Did your brother make on the car?
Ok ok maybe the idea’s a bit OTT but there’s a reason, I used the car to get married last June and I’d like to dress her up to go back to Scotland in (no it was’nt in some castle it was in Gretna and we honeymooned the night in a tent before going on to watch ‘jovi in Coventry then on to Silverstone then on to the Eagles gig in Brum), and I thought touring round in something stupid might be a laff.
Any ideas on what to do for the 1st anniversary would be more than welcome, on or around june 6th (yep the 6/6/6 so I could’nt forget)
Also any other easier ideas for her dressage also welcomed.anyways peeps its my bedtime now, thanks for all the replies.
