• PRICES HELP

    Hi All

A friend of a friend is opening a clothes shop and my mate told them about me doing signs, they know i’m a newbie but the truth being i haven’t do any real jobs yet.

The sign is 10ft x 2ft with a alum frame basic vinyl text and i was going to recommend they have alum panel rather than foamex.

The fitting should be straight forward its a nice clean flat wooded shop front.

I’ve seen posts on here saying get a sign blank ready made for my 1st job would be best.

I told them i will get them a price for tommorow but not sure what would be a reasonable price for this sign.

haven’t even got a clue about blank price.

Can anybody offer any pricing help taking into account differences around the country.

    cheers

    Lee

Lee phone cherwells for a ready made sign frame and acrylic panels in colour required, mark up accordingly and add in labour to fit there you go ball park figure!

I agree with john, get a price from cherwells (01280 840297)

add 50-100% mark up. plus say £80-£100 for one colour simple vinyl graphics.
and about the same for a local, easy fitting.

at this size foamex is fine, but explain the features and benefits of dibond and perspex to the customer, mark up would still be the same, but customer would have choice on price and quality

About £250 pounds would be a reasonable price to ask for

I had the same thing when I started…. just 6 months ago. Cherwells sent me some samples, a small section of the ally surround and a bit of perspex, dibond and foamboard. It helps you and the customer visualize and also see what you’re paying for. I had to be blunt and ask though they weren’t offering it!

Also I wished Cherwells and other produced a catalog without prices, sometimes it’s easier to show a customer what’s available but you don’t want to show them a catalog with the prices you pay in it! I asked them and they don’t do it!
