Matt, DDA compliant signs have become popular due to changes in the Disability Discrimination Act. Trouble is that most people are not really doing the job properly.
Its actually quite a big topic and goes a bit further than just buying some signs from a company that supply DDA signage and slapping them up.

There are a number of companys that will offer DDA compliant signs but as soon as you fit then they don’t conform because the background colour is wrong or they have been fitted in the wrong place.

My advice would be to get hold of a copy of the "Sign Design Guide" from the JMU (Joint Mobility Unit)

Neil, had a look at their site and they look to be OK, have you used them much yourself?

Most of the companys selling DDA compliant signs don’t manufacture it themselves and just sell the white on blue or black on white mass produced stuff which isn’t actually any good in a lot of cases.

North Essex Signs are one of the few companies that make their own DDA compliant signs and will be able to give plenty of advice regarding legibility, colour contrast & typeface.

We have bought from them in the past & have always found them to be reasonabbly priced and their delivery times were good too.
