    Hi All

Just wondered if any of you wonderful people on this site (hope flattery will work) know of a supplier of small metal components or connecting metal bits with which I can assemble lightfittings.

I’ve looked at the Skiffy site, but I’m trying to find more unusual or better finished pieces.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Lightfittings?

What kind are you trying to hold / join / support?

    Cheers

    Hi Dave

I’m looking for ‘sexy’ metal connecting pieces (how sad am I) for lightfittings that we’re making in perspex. Need to hold perspex to base using four connectors. I’ve seen several types that would be suitable on other fittings in lighting showrooms.

I’m hoping that some of these might be ‘standard’ items available off the shelf somewhere. Some bits on Skiffy are fine, but I was hoping to get some connectors that were more unusual or ‘cool / sleek’.

THERE MUST BE A SUPPLIER SOMEWHERE…..?

    Cheers

Try mirror fixings and glass shelf supports on places like Screwfix. They tend to be chrome finished and look quite posh. Something there may suit.

Ah, if it’s the mirror/plaque screws (B&Q / Screwfix) or unusual stand-offs then I’ve got a few suppliers at work.

Weird stuff – lile chrome standoff mounts that are pointy cones, squares, domes, flat, brass, gold, steel – will dig it out tomorrow.

Thanks all for your help – should have mentioned that the parts should be small. Approx. 8mm x 5mm overall.

Cheers again – look forward to getting some info tomorrow.

    Oh, they’re small.

Smallest is dia 12mm that I’ve seen in the caps or standoffs.
