I think I may have a PDF manual on my works computer – if I find it I’ll attach it for you to download tomorrow.

Sounds like it might be – have you turned it off and on again?

Here’s the PDF I spoke about – not got time to look at it for you (out to a meeting for 9.15am) but hopefully it’ll point you in the right direction.

I run the same machine and as far as i know, chances are pretty good that it just needs a decent clean. You will probably find that the sender strip inside the machien is covered in crap (flakes of ink or media coating)

Wipe the strip down and give the rest of the machine a REALLY good clean out. Generally if you need a new set of heads on thay machine, it will start dropping far too much ink of the colour that is gone. You can easily check if the heads are not working by simply running a nozzle check 🙂

Let us know how you go.

    hi

where is the sender strip as i am a bit of a newbie..

i have run a nozzle check, i have also put a new printer head in as well.

still getting a 1.5 inch faded banding through the print and the printer asks to be turned off after the print and then throws up an error code.

Does anyone know of a canon service engineer that can come out i ahve trawled google and cannot find anyone and i have also rung canon and they wont help as i dont have a contract with them.

i am now getting deperate as i have over 70 prints to do.

If you open the front door on the printer, the sender strip iis sitting behind the rubber drive belt at the front, it runs horizontally across the machine just above the bed of the printer. If you give it a gentle wipe with a lint free cloth, most of the dirt etc should just wipe off. Also go right over it as much as possible onthe inside to clean out any scrappy bits of paper or coating, inks etc.

If your nozzle check is coming up well this should solve your problems as it really doesnt sound like a print head problem, especially if you have just replaced the head unit.
