Printed blinds – Kingdom & Wright
Nothing fancy…just standard blinds material ‘printed’ with car aerosols & vinyl masks.
The intense white was achieved with a clear base coat to prevent bleed.

very nice dave. bit of work in that I suppose. Putting a cast vinyl wouldn’t have worked on that material?

quote Shane Drew:very nice dave. bit of work in that I suppose.Cheers Shane, the kingdom ones took 2.5 hours in total, a bit longer than usual as the font was scanned from supplied artwork and had a ‘few’ extra nodes (slow cut) – that’s cutting vinyl, applying to blind & masking very, very well – and making sure the edges are down, and the middles of the letters are in place!!
quote :Putting a cast vinyl wouldn’t have worked on that material?No, this stuff is basically non-stick. (100% polyester woven fabric) The grab any vinyl gets is minimal – and it’s got to be able to be rolled up every day, baked in the sun for years etc.
For me it’s a better & cheaper alternative to getting screen print done for the simple stuff as it’s to my time scale, fabric in a controlled environment (it creases easily) and if I’ve got 6 different sized logos…no silly setup charges for separate screens.
For the more colourful stuff, so long as no photographic stuff or skillful fades – it can be a toss-up between in house & digital print. Again, I’ve got the time scale on my side and cost as buying in the digi-fabric images is silly money if we want a reasonable mark-up on raw. Been doing these for a couple of years – so far so good.
