  • Can you recomend a Trade Printer please?

    Hi Guys

I have a present supplier for vehicle wrap prints and general large format full colour printing. BUT (yes always a but) I am not happy with his quality and colour consistency.

Basically I am after some recommendations on where other people get there prints from mainly for vehicle wrapping. I tried someone recently and they fobbed me off with a print on to standard vinyl, trying to apply dry was very amusing. Anyway I am rambling now…….

I am looking for a "Trade only Printer"

Look forward to any posts on this. 😀

You could try DDi in Norwich. I know they are strictly trade only so no chance of them trying to nick your customers 😎

There is also Raccoon, Trade Brigade, Superwide graphics etc etc
all do great work but watch on print resolution and as you said the media used. you normally find the £15-17 a square metre printers are offering low resolution because they are geared more for monster size work but can and do produce the likes of wraps. its just what you or your customer will find acceptable. i.e. the closer it will be viewed the higher the resolution is preffered.
raccoon are a reliable source… won awards, been around a while and give decent advice.

one thing to keep in mind, most trade printers quote on the media "they" use. if you stipulate a media i would guess the price to go up.
"i think" raccoon use graphityps grafiwrap which is a good two part wrap and laminate system.

a tip, go for what is best when it comes to wraps, NOT price. it will come back and bite your backside months down the line.

Thanks Robert and you are right on your points.

I ordered some prints one on a sample basis and think they were printed at about 30 dpi 🙂 never seen anything like it.

I will give Raccoon a call on Monday and see what they have to say as I heard they have been investing quite heavinly in machinery.

As for the wraps coming back, that is a total disaster and really dont want that to happen and touch wood it hasn’t yet
