    Please can anyone help? :headbang2:

I have a Rocky 1 and every now and then, whilst printing a job, the printer will just stop, for no reason at all! No error message appears either on the Rocky 1 or in the Onyx print menu!!

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you remedy it?
This is the same machine as the Jetster XL too, so if anyone has had this problem on that machine….

    Much appreciated in advance.

    can also be the port.
when you use signlab and it’s port it sends data to the printer at incredible speed, the printer buffer just gives up and you stop printing,

try setting the port to a windows port, it’s much slower but will definately solve your problem

cheers i’ll try those and let you know the outcome. I’ve been quoted silly money to have someone come and look at it maybe fix it! (typical just out of warranty too!)

    HI RICHARD,

I HAVE A ROCKY 38 AND HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. YOUR ANSWER LIES IN THE VOLTAGE OF THE MACHINE. IF THE VOLTAGE IS TO HIGH THE TIMING IS OUT AND CAUSES THE ONYX TO GO ON A BENDER.
MINE WAS SET AT 5.15 AND IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY IT SHOULD BE 4.2. THIS IS IN THE CASING UNDER THE PRINTER.
THE BEST PEOPLE TO ASK IS ARTSYSTEMS. VERY HELPFUL!!!!!

MAYBE AN ELECTICIAN COULD SORT IT OUT IF ITS OUT OF WARRANTY!!!
I CAN GUARANTEE THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. MANY WERE SENT OUT FROM THE MANUFACTURERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. REAL BUGGER WHEN YOU ARE HALFWAY THROUGH A BIG JOB!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that Karl. I’ll give that a go as I’m still getting half way through a job and it stops for no reason! Are you using the Ultra Inks and if so what media you using it on?

    HI RICHARD,
YES, I’M USING THE ULTRA INKS. I NORMALLLY PRINT ONTO MACTAC FROM AMARI DIGITAL SUPPLIES IN NOTTINGHAM. VERY GOOD! NOW IT’S HAD THE UPGRADE IT PRINTS NOT TO BAD ONTO THE MACTAC 8300
VINYL. YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO PRINT ONTO THIS BUT IT DOES SEEM TO WORK. SAVES ON BUYING A FULL ROLL AS WELL! WHERE DID YOU BUY YOUR MACHINE FROM? HAVE YOU TRIED THE VOLTAGE YET?

I’ve had the casing off and there are 2 Variable Resistors, RV1 and RV2, the only 2 components I can see that are adjustable. Do you know which one to adjust and at what point to adjust it, by any chance?
