What am I doing working on a Sunday morning?

Anyway, I’ve just fitted these – 3mm brass. An hour’s work for a tidy sum!

If you think they are a bit low on the panel, there are some lights going above them when the planning is approved.

That looks classy Andy did you make the letters? did you make the fascia boards as well ? would you need planning permission for a trough light or those bullit sort lights ? I thought it was just for internal lighting as in light boxes ? is that me wrong again 🙄

    nice job andy 😀

dont know if its the angle of photo, but i would have made the spacing between the wording a bit bigger 😉

Nik, it’s an exact match to their stationery and all their other publicity materials, so the spacing is a bit odd.

Lynn, I got the letters cut at a local place, where I used to work.

The customer did all the timber work himself. He’s a bit handy with the old carpentry tools, good for an accountant!

Apparently, they do need planning permission for Bullets, according to the local council. But they would say that, wouldn’t they?

nice work andy, i like brass lettering.
ive only ever only fitted them a few times over the years… ide had to be careful not to kink bend when pressing into place and they were pretty big. how did you fix them mate, was it regular, brass locators or pin type fixings?

thanks for taking the time to post your work…

Small threaded pins, and silicone in the holes. I just pushed them in and the thread helps it grip. I’ve got to go back to do a few other bits, by which time the silicone will have set and I can give them a good polish.

I also fitted a couple of plaques, but as you can see, they are not very easy to photograph! They looked the biz though.

yeah i know the pin type you mean Andy. i had them on some stainless built-ups a while back. drilled the holes but instead of silicon i used a two part 3m adhesive that turns brick hard. scooted some into the hole and pressed in letters like you said. i use the same stuff to stick locator’s to the backs of metal letters. works a treat.

i really like brass plaques but hate back filling them with colour. messy as hell and takes me ages. :lol1: i body swerve doing engravings like this. as you said though, look the business when they are up.

    nice work mate…

If you want chrome effect, like dibond or something he could do that. 13mm high, good luck!
